My thoughts about Hacktoberfest and OSD600

Published: | Updated:

Time goes fast, it’s been a month since the contest started. I don’t think I did well with it but it’s okay to learn more about Git and open source development. What I’ve learned so far about open source is definitely useful for future career.

This is four projects I was working on:

https://github.com/kentor/flush-promises/

https://github.com/30-seconds/30-seconds-of-code/

https://github.com/TheAlgorithms/Java/

https://github.com/paypal/butterfly/

Probably there was not any big contribution to those projects, but to me one small contribution is still important and as a first step to open source. After this event I’ve know more about Git, it doesn’t seem like a place just to store people’s code, but a place where million of developers working together to build better foundation for the world of technology and Github, it provides tools to achieve what we want.

Finally, I will definitely take OSD700 course if it’s available in the next semester.
